ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Like many businesses during the pandemic, Helena Anrather Gallery had to figure out how to continue to function in a world without IRL interactions — a challenge for a traditional gallery fundamentally tied to its physical space. What they came up with was an online video series, Screeners, crowd-sourced through their network of artists, writers, curators, and dealers, where they would showcase one video work per day, suggested by one person, to be put on view for 24 hours on their website.

Organized weekly, the gallery approached me to create a playful series of animated GIFs to inaugurate each new slate of videos — each graphic intended to express a distinct persona to fully demarcate each week’s set of videos. The series ran from April 20th to June 3rd.
