ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Intern, Assistant Winemaker

“Our last red wine was a labor of love for two of my favorite people on the plant, Chris and Thach. These two men interned for the harvest and busted their butts every day, never asking for anything and never complaining. They hand-crafted this beauty out of a small piece of a special Russian River Vineyard, Greywacke, with an amazing clone, Alban One. I wish Bevan Cellars could claim it completely as its own, but alas that isn’t to be. I have been a huge fan of this clone for years and this wine embraces all of the spice, fruit and textures people expect to get from them. It is the proverbial iron fist in the velvet glove. We were going to release this with our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc in the Spring, but the wine is so special and showing so well, I don’t feel right not allowing people to try it.” - Russell Bevan, from his January 2011 release letter

In the fall of 2008, I had the unique privilege of interning for award-winning winemaker Russell Bevan, along with my stepfather, Thach Nguyen, while also simultaneously making our own wine with Russell's guidance under his label, Bevan Cellars.
