After successfully collaborating with Rostam on the Vampire Weekend website, he reached out again when it came time to launch materials to promote his first side project with Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles, Discovery.

Unlike the Vampire Weekend site, though, this time around he knew exactly what he wanted and I was basically tasked with turning a Photoshop file into an interactive single page teaser site. It also involved placing ads on Vampire Weekend and Ra Ra Riot’s MySpace pages, which is absolutely wild to look at after all these years.

Based on feedback from then Director of A&R at XL Recordings, Imran Ahmed, the site evolved to be built around the cover of the album, work that was done mostly in-house at the record label, while I provided some last minute development support before the official launch.

While the album didn’t achieve the dizzying success of Vampire Weekend's releases, it still holds a special place in the hearts of fans as something of a cult curio, and additionally, it provides the theme music for one of my favorite film podcasts, The Big Picture.
